While this may be a tall order at this time, a mobile app would be really cool! You could enter the 3 letter code while you're looking at the checkpoint and you've logged your find. You could offer your rating at the same time and an optional log entry would be nice too. As an example, check out the Munzee app.

I decided to create online GeoCheckpointing application instead of creating separate apps for iphone, android, windows mobile and other operating systems. This solution allows to run the application on every device equipped with browser supporting HTML5 (most of the modern browsers support that) -- no matter what operating system you use.

The features you are talking about are not yet implemented, however, they are on the to-do list. I am waiting for first feedbacks from the users to make sure it works properly on their devices and based on the feedbacks I will improve it. No, I hadn't tried that yet - I didn't know it was available. I guess I should have poked around a bit more I've bookmarked it on my iPhone and will try it next time I'm out.
